I'm curious, too, to see how he deals with research (e.g., Bishop et al. 2004) that suggests that kids <i>do</i> want good grades and to do well in class—it's the outward display of hard/enthusiastic work (among other behaviors that signal a kid as uninterested in "normal" activities) that gets kids labeled as nerds.
